Ahhhh The Louis. It’s been in my family for generations. We are way less Chanel, always heavy on the Louis Vuitton. From my childhood, my mother and sisters collected pieces every year like fine china. This was our art. When you spotted that spectacularly thick brown box with the printed ribbon (it said louis vuitton, so not much of a surprise) under the tree, it was nothing short of pure ecstasy.

I keep every piece I ever got. I have the epi, the glamoflage, the monogram fabric, the speedy, the keepall, tiny ones, big ones and, the newest addition, was purchased in Vegas after a VERY successful pull of a slot machine on my birthday. It’s my collection, it’s sort of a legacy. It’s what I collect. I highly recommend collecting things. Things that you love and cherish. Things that make you feel good when you look at them. And, especially, things that look good with everything.

xoxo, Alex

My Take on Vegas

Las Vegas is whatever you decide to make it, which is exactly why I love it. I have done the all-out glamorous version and the lazy poolside version, and both were perfect in their own way. The city rewards people who lean into a plan, whether that plan is a packed itinerary or simply two days of doing absolutely nothing of consequence.

What keeps pulling me back is the sheer range. World-class dinners, ridiculous fun, quiet luxury, and total chaos, all within a few blocks of each other. You can build whichever trip you are in the mood for.

Doing It Right

A few hard-won lessons make every Vegas trip better. Book your big dinner before you arrive, because the best tables vanish. Build in real downtime, because trying to do everything is how people burn out by day two. And stay somewhere you actually want to hang out, since you will spend more time at your hotel than you expect.

Most of all, give yourself one slow morning. A quiet breakfast and a swim before the day ramps up is the reset that keeps the whole trip feeling fun instead of frantic.
