Paradise found. Indeed. As you may have guessed, I LOVE movies. Watching movies, talking about movies, falling asleep to movies – everything. But lately the idea of going to the theater to see movies has become passe – UNTIL NOW. I am going to single handedly bring back one of life’s greatest pleasures – going to the movies! With the help of a little known slice of heaven called The iPic.
I know, I know, it’s gonna take a lot to get you out of your jammies and off your comfy couch to come out in the world – but this is worth it. Trust.
The iPic is an experience before the movie even starts. I go to one that is located in Westwood, CA and the minute you walk in the door you are transported like Alice into Wonderland. You walk through a restaurant / bar called The Tuck Room that is loaded with unique and bizarre decorations from wall to wall. Start your journey here with a specialty cocktail from the mixology guru behind the bar.
Next, you make your way into the theater and behold the most comfortable movie seat on earth. As you tuck in to your plush orange seat (remove your shoes for extra comfy time), pull up your soft fleece blanket and nestle your head on the fluffy pillow, you will be shocked to learn that this gets even better. As you recline, a servant, I mean, waiter, immediately appears and begs to bring you anything you would like. And, yes, this may feel like you will be taking off soon, but this journey is way more fun and doesn’t end with jetlag.
And the food is fantastic! You must do the spicy tuna on crispy rice and the pork sliders are to die! And as the libation of your choice flows down your gullet and you are handed warm popcorn (it’s FREE! doesn’t stuff always taste better when it’s free?), the lights will dim and it’s time to watch the show. Or, as my boyfriend does, it’s time to drift off to dream land until the end credits roll.
